Conkling lives in Pequannock. Why should they only have shown up at 1 a.m.? Maybe that was the plan. More info is needed about what their plans were with respect to where they were going and when. With possibly a 600 mile drive ahead, they could have planned shoving off at 2:00am or 3:00am for instance to beat the traffic. That would be at least an 8 hour drive. Was the rental car for Chalem? If he wanted to be inconspicuous he would have rented rather than drive say his Lamborghini. Especially, since he would want to drop it off for his flight to FL and not have to worry about it.
