See my earlier comments on Carol vs. Joni....Geez, do you know how hard it is to not put on everyone with arguably profound influence? I should have the Grateful Dead, the Band, the Velvet Underground---- going back further, the Crickets, Jackie Wilson, Ike and Tina Turner, the Four Seasons, the Beach Boys....I don't know, I could flood the festive forum, to coin a phrase, in celebration of the Marx Brothers, Humphrey Bogart, Jimmy Cagney, Jimmy Stewart, Katherine Hepburn, Henry Fonda, John Wayne, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole: all of these people had a profound impact, and it is not good enough to dismiss them as entertainers, or to pretend that things would have been the same if Jimmy Stewart had not "Gone to Washington", or Bogie had not "begun a beautiful friendship", or Katherine Hepburn had not been Tracy Lord in "Philadelphia Story"....I am doing my best to keep it down, and do everyone justice, but I cannot, and sometimes a person is going to end up standing in for a type.....
