In the same spirit, I just became aware of a charity I had never heard of called Healing the Children. There was a special on 20/20 tonight about Bangladesh, where they are having occurrences of men throwing acid in the faces of young women who scorn them or don't comply with their demands. These girls are terribly disfigured, often blinded, and this charity has been helping some of these young girls receive good medical treatment.

We are so lucky to have good medical care for ourselves and our families. As a parent, I cannot imagine how it would feel to have to watch your child suffer. For every $1 you donate, Healing the Children promises $10 worth of medical care to a needy child.
