Can anyone verify the following? All of the cost comparisons I've seen are based on the Average Wholesale Price (i.e. the manufacturer's price plus 16 2/3%). This is normally a good comparison and usually works out to what the patient pays..

I heard that Merck ships all of its Crixivan to a company called Statlanders. This company puts a 37% upcharge on the product to place it into the wholesale system. If this is true, then the actual patient cost is 21-37% higher than previously quoted. This might also mean that Viracept is the lowest priced PI to the patient. So,

Does anyone know more about Merck's supply system?
Can someone do some price shopping at a large chain store (like Walgreen's) and a small independent pharmacy (like in a clinic), and find out the actual patient cost comparison between the two?
