Betty, if I were to go by popularity numbers, I would rate Danielle Steele higher than T.S. Eliot. However, Steele is a shallow commodity, and Eliot made a difference to the way that those who actually have positions of responsibility think about the world....Influence is not merely the number of people reached, but the difference made.....I made out just as well to "Something" or "Inna Godda Da Vida" as the Shirelles. I imagine I would have done so if I had put on Sinatra.....
