At the moment I am trying to remember how NTI fell out of
my basket--probably figured with the private placement I
could get the stock for less than a buck...then forgot to
do the trade when that happened, whoops. And that one has
had a nice move recently, although I'm not sure you can
devine anything from ntii's volatility.
I might have done a little DD on Vertex, Regeneron and Ceph,
but you will remember that CNSI takes up that slot in
Mike's Microcap Madness.
You know, I am trying to wean myself from biotech--at least
from the SI and trading part, plenty of stuff to read at
Current Opinion, even ran out of paper for my printer today;-)
But SI is like the Godfather just keeps pulling me back
<g>.
Actually, I've recently re-established a few positions,
stocks I'd mentioned on the Nifty thread at the start of
this year. The portfolio is a fairly reasonable basket
of eight microcaps--probably looks a bit like BVF. I'll
chalk up 1999 as a learning experience, and heck--if you
can make a trade as unlucky as that one I pulled and
still close out the year with a modest gain, why not.
Maybe next year the killer microcap biotech trade will
fall into my lap. |
