Totally Hip Software Inc. developer and provider of QuickTime and multimedia authoring tools, says LiveStage Professional QuickTime Authoring environment is now available and will be officially introduced to developers at Apple's first-ever QuickTime Live! Conference from Nov 8-11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Workshop sessions are being held on Monday Nov. 8, Michael Shaff, president of Small Hands and Randall McCallum, interim CEO and president of Totally Hip, will be presenting one of only eight full-day workshops being offered. Attendees of the LiveStage Professional workshop, "Access the Interactive Capabilities of QuickTime," will be shown practical applications and real world example projects created using LiveStage Professional. Totally Hip will also be showcasing LiveStage Professional and its QuickTime authoring capabilities in Booth #209 at the conference exhibitors show.

LiveStage Professional is the QuickTime authoring tool that gives developers and digital media producers an environment to create engaging interactive QuickTime content on the Internet, CD-ROM and DVD-ROM. It also allows Internet entrepreneurs to enhance e-Commerce opportunities associated with Web-casting and Internet video on demand services.

In July, 1999, a pre-release 'non-shipping' version of LiveStage Professional won the Macworld "Best of Show" award in New York, following the company's "Best of Show" award for LiveStage 1.0 DR at the San Francisco Macworld in January.

During product testing, key new features were added to LiveStage Professional, including third party extensible drag and drop behavior capabilities and Macromedia Flash file support. This decision to broaden the product feature set targets novice multimedia developers encouraged by QuickTime's flexibility and growing consumer adoption, says McCallum.

"Now both professional developers and aspiring media designers can use LiveStage Professional to develop and deliver dynamic interactive QuickTime movie content," he adds. "And best of all, LiveStage Professional complements Macromedia Flash and Director, allowing thousands of developers to combine the power of these industry-standard tools with the benefits of QuickTime's wired sprites."

LiveStage Professional lets users or third party developers create custom behaviors and AppleScripts. Benefits are increased development efficiency and the ability for users with little or no scripting experience to create interactive QuickTime projects. The ability to extend LiveStage Professional has attracted a growing third party QuickTime developer community that shares and communicates their ideas and techniques to produce innovative QuickTime content, McCallum says. These extensible features will be made available on the LiveStage Developer Network at Totally Hip's Web site.

LiveStage Professional can be used as a stand-alone product, or in combination with other popular multimedia design tools such as Macromedia Flash and Director, Apple's FinalCut Pro or iMovie, Adobe Photoshop, ImageStyler and Illustrator, or any media creation tool that produces QuickTime compatible media. LiveStage Professional allows users to work with popular media types such as vector and bitmap sprite animation, Flash, MP3, MIDI, video, audio, text, 3D and VR in an intuitive timeline interface.

The object-orientated QScript language gives serious developers access to over 200 features within QuickTime for handling interactive media. Sophisticated interactivity can also be added to any type of QuickTime movie, including streaming media, using easy to use drag and drop behaviors.

LiveStage Professional is now available at a suggested retail price of US $699.95. For more details, go to totallyhip.com.
