GTE Wireless Begins 'Pull' Services Trial By Louis Trager, Inter@ctive Week November 2, 1999 10:34 AM ET GTE Wireless and an application provider planned to announce Tuesday the first service to enable owners of conventional digital cell phones to pull information on demand from selected Web sites. GTE is running a trial of @mobile.com with a limited number of subscribers in the San Francisco area. The customers can pull data from the Infospace directory, the LinksTime.com golf-reservation services, Starbucks, the UV115.com teen commerce site and Weather.com, plus personalized content from MyYahoo! @mobile said the service would be available under the nonexclusive GTE partnership for a modest $4.95 monthly. continued.... zdnet.com
