Absolutely true. But the day is coming when your TV will be your access to the internet.

I don't buy that stuff for one minute. I would absolutely HATE to interface the web through my TV. Even HDTV doesn't have the resolution my monitor does.

All TV does currently is allow you to view broadcast or cable video. There are some pay-per-view extensions made possible via cable.

Now think of all the things that computers do, and just how complex they are. The web fits into a lot of that - downloading and viewing different file formats, filling out forms, e-commerce, etc. Now you tell me which seems more likely: everybody surfing the web on their TV, or everyone watching TV on their computers?

If everyone is going to surf the web on their TV, then the TV and computer will have to merge.
