Hi Frank,

re: On Alameda's Bay Farm Island, GTE subscriber Donna McDonald noted that during a recent power outage, few if any local residents were able to use their cell phones inside their homes.

"It was very funny to see a lot of my neighbors walking around out in front of our townhouse (myself included) trying to get some reception," she said.

Also on Bay Farm, Randy Phillips experimented with GTE and Sprint, and found his calls routinely being cut off on both services while at home and traveling around the neighborhood

I used to live in Alameda. Bay Farm Island is on the south side of Alameda toward San Jose. It is very flat and completely residential. Adjacent to Bay Farm Island is Oakland International Airport. Assuming there is adequate cell tower coverage on Bay Farm Island (which apparently there may not be), is it possible for radio frequencies from airport flight towers to interfere with frequencies from cell towers under any conditions even though they operate in different frequency ranges?

Thanks, and many thanks for sharing your amazing knowledge on Silicon Investor.

Stephen
