After listening to the Qualcomm post-earnings release conference call tonight, MCI got a hell of a deal re Sprint. Qualcomm's HDR will deliver 2 megabit stationary internet service (300kb to 1 megabit mobile) using mostly existing Sprint equipment. Obviously, Sprint will be the first to roll out this service. MCI just put itself not only in the wireless phone biz but also wireless internet. Price will be less than current DSL charges.
