As a long frustrated NOVL stockholder I am trying to figure out the problems with this stock. Remember Novellïs early 90ïs slogan : " The past, present and future of Network Computing". This is the problem . The past and present of Novell. Nobody gives it credit for the past we have seen incl. Wordperfect, DR-DOS and Unixware disasters. I think if Novell would form, or sell to, a new company, call it AKATOMI , market just its Directory Services, Digital-me and ICS and go public we would propably see a market cap. of 15 billion $ and a lot of analysts who discover the huge potential of all this technology. The new " In-the-Net" department is not enough, it doesnït create mindshare. Separate Novellïs Netware, Groupwise and non-Internet products from the other product line. Just for the reason of market perception. Or change Novellïs name or whatever. But the perception of Novellïs old mistakes is killing its stock. If I hadnït tied all my money in NOVL I would have bought AKAMAI last friday on IPO and be a happy man. And for sure a lot of investors stay out of this stock for exactly the same reason. The Internet stock market is crazy and Novellïs management has to accept that and adapt to these market perceptions. Go Eric.. do something.... Chris
