Anitech's Results Improve By 77% And Third Quarter Profitable

OCTOBER 30, 1999

Anitech recorded a third quarter profit of $9,000 with results for the first nine months of 1999 improving by 77% over the same period last year. Sales for the first nine months were $1.195M as compared to $976,030 last year. As a result, Anitech continued to have a positive cash flow from operations with losses declining to $20,543 (including $62,628 for depreciation). During the third quarter Anitech installed its new DT-500 computer system at plants owned by Schneider Meats and Maple Leaf Meats and Maple Leaf has placed purchase orders for two more plants.

The Company is pursuing additional DT-500 sales and expanding the system's use from the pork to the beef industry. Last week Anitech attended the American Meat Institute trade show in Chicago with its new US distributor, Best & Donovan. Anitech's PetNet microchip system for pets continues to grow, and Anitech is exploring e-commerce opportunities in the pet industry.

Anitech is a leader in data collection for the animal industry. Anitech's DT-500 helps meat packers maintain records on individual carcasses and respond to concerns raised by disease outbreaks such as "mad cow disease". It facilitates faster production speeds, improving yields, and compliance with new regulations. Anitech's PetNet microchip ID system dominates the Canadian pet market and is distributed at 80% of all Canadian veterinary clinics. Over 400,000 pets are registered on the national PetNet database.
