Federal Express Corporation, has joined hands with Rediff on-the-Net for providing logistics support to Rediff in its e- business.

According to Mr. Jacques Creeten, Managing Director Operations, (Indian subcontinent) FedEx, with Indian companies looking at the Net for expanding their business, online business is expected to increase substantially.

Rediff has also tied up with MasterCard International and Citibank for enabling payments for Net transactions. According to Ms. Uma Iyer, Director, Strategic Alliances, Rediff, the portal's 'market place' will enable a larger number of businesses to serve the global markets. According to her, the absence of cyber laws has not been a hindrance for e-business in India as customers are using various other channels such as credit cards, VPP and cheque facilities for payments. Having launched its e-business over an year ago, Rediff is keen on bringing together more number of companies in its market place.
