Company Press Release
ADVISORY/Viking Chairman Comments on Glass-Steagall Repeal
WHAT: Viking Chairman Comments on Glass-Steagall Repeal
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- WHERE: Corporate Position Memo
Located at www.vcgi.com

WHEN: Available Now

With what appears to be the imminent passage of banking reform, Viking Capital Group Chairman and CEO William Fossen has issued a corporate position memo outlining the legislation's impact on Viking. Interested individuals can read the publicly available memo, posted at www.vcgi.com, the corporate Website of Viking Capital Group, Inc. and it's subsidiary companies.

Repeal of the Banking Act of 1933, commonly called the Glass-Steagall Act, is of significant interest to Viking's management and stakeholders. The reform legislation before Congress and agreed to by the White House will remove most of the Depression-era barriers that separate banks, insurance companies and brokerage firms from selling each other's products. This change is important to Viking because banking reform clears the way for smaller banks - those that are less likely to enter into mega-merger deals similar to the one undertaken between Travelers and CitiCorp last year - to sell other financial products. Viking's business plan is built around a suite of software, systems and consulting services to help such banks compete more efficiently via the Internet in a post-Banking Act environment.
