re: wireless bottlenecking, implementation deltas, nirvanic delusions

Ray, thanks for the article.

3G wireless is beginning to sweep the imagination of prospective users who have been starved for both mobility and bandwidth in ways which heretofore have caused them to experience nirvanic delusions.

While I remain optimistic over the potential of 3G possibilities long term, the nature of my being often brings me to examine potential downsides, as well. Hey, someone's got to do it.

Even assuming that we stay with a Q model as they have laid out their prescribed framework over the next several years, can it be said that all implementations of 3G by carriers will yield similar levels of expectations and delivery to users? Where are the deltas between different carriers' proposed architectures that could lead to lumpy profiling of this service, when viewed over a broad base, that will cause us to look back at some point and examine the differences? Anyone?

Regards, Frank Coluccio
