SCS Solars enters agreements with two worldwide cruise lines SCS Solars Computing Systems Inc SCS Shares issued 30,557,801 Nov 2 close $0.65 Tue 2 Nov 99 News Release Mr. Frank Wells reports SCS Solars Computing signed five-year contracts with two worldwide and world class cruise lines. Both First European Cruises and Leisure Voyages have signed contracts to have their products delivered by way of the Solarnet system. First European Cruises is headquartered out of New York and has 112 sailings to the Caribbean, Eastern and Western Mediterranean, North Africa, Norwegian, Fjords and Baltic Sea with ships' registry in France, Panama and the Bahamas. First European Cruises offer 30 itineraries worldwide and has recently introduced its newest, state of the art, ship, the Mistral. First European Cruises presently sells and markets its cruises within the North American marketplace through four regional sales directors. First European Cruises' regional sales director for Canada, Iain Perkins, stated: "First European Cruises is looking to Solarnet as a key to providing worldwide distribution for their product, which will replace the need for costly and often ineffective faxing." It is First European Cruises' goal to increase market share with solutions such as Solarnet. "We have actively sought to enhance our current distribution methods and Solarnet provides a cost effective, real time solution in a managed distribution environment. Further, Solarnet's management tools will allow us to see, in a real time environment, the travel agent's activity on our hosted site with feedback on agency activity." Leisure Voyages, headquartered in Walnut Creek, Calif., has provided upscale river ship cruises on a worldwide basis for over fourteen years. Leisure Voyages presently offers sailing on such pristine rivers as the Volga in Russia, the Nile in Egypt, the Rhone in France and starting in the year 2000, the spectacular Danube. Under these contracts, both companies wish to maximize sell-off circular distribution to travel agents through the Solarnet Travel Network. Historically, cruise lines have distributed updates and travel specials by way of facsimile. This method is has been found to be costly, labour intensive and often ineffective. Solarnet will provide a distribution solution capable of posting bulletins, which are immediately accessible electronically by travel agents, through their existing CRS on-line terminals. SCS Solars' director of sales, Bob Wilson, wishes to welcome First European Cruises and Leisure Voyages adding: "The introduction of the Solarnet system into the cruise line industry promises great possibilities and potential within this industry. The acceptance and endorsement of the Solarnet system in the cruise line industry, again, signifies the versatility of the Solarnet system in meeting yet another facet of the leisure travel marketplace's needs."
