A 9MM is slightly smaller than a .45. (.45th of an inch) The way you calculate it is take 5/8th which is a centimeter divide by 100 to get mm, then multiply times 9 and the reason I am posting all this is I did that and I don't get the right answer, so maybe my 5/8th isn't accurate.
