BGR, don't forget, it was the European CB's buying up the bonds...what has that to do with the U.S. surplus? my guess is they did it out of fear that some of the players in interest rate derivatives were about to get into big trouble. they simply helped to bail out the speculators again. just a little biased hunch....<ggg>
