Does everyone know that the most effective drugs for arthritis were steroids? Steroids have been widely prescibed as the best anti-arthritis drugs. These drugs are very effective. They can immediately "cure" the disease within a week and patients feel great. However, prolonged use of steriods weakens bones and destroys immune system. Patients die within 10 to 20 years after using steroids, usually due to a cold or other minor infections. Patients develop dependency on steroids after about a month of usage and it is very difficult to stop using the drug afterwards.

Now it is considered a extremely bad and dangerous practice to prescribe steroids to reumatic patients.

The most recent clinical results on TNF showed that 39% patients had infections within 6 months of trial. It is not known whether the infection rates will increase as the trial lengthens.
