Hi Mike:

Newbridge won the contracts for the two LMCS
(Canadia's version of LMDS) license areas in
Canada. It went head to head against NT and won.
Note also that Newbridge bought Stanford Telecom
primarily for its LMDS unit. Stanford Telecom was
working with Alcatel, so there might also be
LMDS rollouts planned in Europe. In general, it
is widely agreed that LMDS has better potential
outside North America, particularly in areas of
the world with a weak telecom infrastructure, such
as Central and Eastern Europe, South America,
or Asia.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
