Does this scenario make any sense to you?

Mike, no. SBC is buying ALA DSLAMs. NN doesn't have a DSLAM product, and they don't compete in this market segment.

I believe he alluded to the 40% increase in Europe because the European carriers are upgrading the installed base of Newbridge equipment with next generation DSL line cards.

I don't recall this either, from the CC. In fact, I'm not sure why carriers would be putting DSL lines cards in 36170s. Its not cost effective, unless you simply need a few DSL lines, and don't want to buy a DSLAM. DSLAMs are relatively cheap compared to an ATM switch, and provide for high density rollouts of DSL line services. DSLAMs typically have ATM and/or Ethernet uplink ports for presentation into an ATM or IP network.

Any Pronto business NN might capture would probably more 36170s, or perhaps the new core, is they can deliver the 50G very soon. However, it appeared LU has the inside track on the core and edge ATM stuff.
