COOL news- plans to become profitable

Cyberian Outpost CEO Robert Bowman said the Internet-based computer-products retailer
will target more business sales. "The business-to-business market is twice the size of the
consumer market," Bowman said. "It's a massive market."

The company also plans to organize its site along "lifestyle" lines -- home buyers, small
businesses, sports, technology, and so forth.

In addition, Cyberian (COOL: news, msgs) will soon allow customers to interact with
company employees in real time. Right now the 4 million visitors to the site each month can't
"talk" to Cyberian workers. "It will be changed within 10 days," Bowman promised.

To ensure that falling prices in the computer industry don't slash profit margins, Cyberian is
working on becoming an authorized vendor for most major computer and computer parts
makers. That'll give Cyberian -- and its customers -- access to the latest products.

Cyberian is "on a plan to be profitable in the near future,"
Bowman reiterated. Shares of the
company fell 1/4 to 8 9/16.
