from street.com and cramer 11/3/99 3:50 PM ET Get this raid on Cisco (CSCO:Nasdaq). Of course, Cisco is in quiet. Of course, that means it can't respond to the bogus rumors, rumors I won't dignify. Of course, it is being reduced to a pitiful helpless giant, by short-sellers who know they can have their way with this great company because it is too close to reporting to be allowed to speak. Veterans of these networkers know that this is a game that always gets played by the shorts. It used to be a ritual with Bay Networks, Synoptics and Cabletron (CS:NYSE). The latter took the rare step once of preannouncing that everything was OK just to nail the shorts. But that's not Cisco's style. What do I do? I wait until the raid is done to buy more. I know that no matter what I say, I can't end it. I use raids in Cisco historically to get longer this, my fave name. I doubt this time it will be different.
