Why not be quicker in selling? Average up not down.

Lets say you are long, stock goes from 15 to 14, if you had left at 14 7/8, you could use the proceeds to buy 6.2% more shares at 14. Since you have a belief that the stock is sure to go back up and have the capital, buy some more at 14 3/8 on trip back up.

There is no guarantee that any stock will return to old highs or lows.
