Part of the explanation of the jump in the stock was probably due to an article in todays Investors Business Daily on Rewritable Disc Drives. They show a forecast of global shipments of rewritable drives
1998 6 million ( I am reading this from a graph with out gridlines)
1999 13 million
2000 20 million
2001 25 million
2002 30 million
These are my readings from their graph forecasts. If we assume 3 or 4 disks for the drives you will get an estimate of the disk volume but they put the selling price at $1.00 per disk . This doesn't give us a lot of earnings based on a low royalty. Frank
