I had heard of the Ditech product's alleged superiority, and so I asked TLAB's investor relations about it. The assertions about superior design and winning recognition appeared in an IBD about six months ago, if I recall correctly what Tom Scottino said to me when he called me back. The echo cancel division of TLAB was consulted by investor relations because they knew that this would be "out there" but the whole concept of losing competitions to Ditech appeared to be news to TLAB. Tom Scottino compared TLAB's echo canc. sales figures to Ditech's. There is not much comparison, from what I remember of the figures. It appears that TLAB is not losing sleep at this point. I suggest that you call Tom Scottino or e-mail him about this point if you want further clarification. He was very forthcoming and ready to answer. I've sent him an e-mail with your post.
