Maybe illegal downloads haven't hurt the record industry in the sense of declining sales or profits, but I think they have paired the gains.
Furthermore, most MP3's out there sound like crap. The common standard of 128kb/s is NOT CD quality like many companies and the media have purported. LQID audio or MP4 should attract an even wider following once one can actually achieve the CD'ish sound erroneously thrown about.

Liquid Audio is a much more advanced compression algorithm, and sounds much closer to CD quality at filesizes of 128.

Heh. I never said LQID audio couldn't make money. I never said I wanted to short it. I never said that people wouldn't pay up to download music over the net. I simply asked a question. The answer seems to be that this company's biz plan is based on the honor sysytem. That people will pay for something which perhaps with a little more effort, could be found for free.

Don't you think that should be taken into account when evaluating this companies prospects?
