Go, Ammo. And, hey, we don't have to be strong with mom. Unless she is sick, of course.
Well, the MRI was a snap. It didn't heat the ink and I almost fell asleep in there.
But then there was the EMG. The first part is kinda cool. They give you shocks and your arm/hand leap about and you can watch the squiggly lines on the screen. But then they stick needles in you. She'd told me they'd poke me, so I'm thinking "no problem". Nope, they stick 'em in and make you push against them, making them dig in deeper. There are at least 3 nerves that aren't up to snuff and she wants to do a complete neurological exam. She said she found things that would be unrelated to the disc problem (which I'll know about next Friday). Really, from her mutterings with the helper, not much works right in the arm. Some just works worse than other things. I have no idea what all that would mean in terms of treatment, but I'll quiz the doctor next Friday and, of course, we'll know more after the complete workup.
It's a perfect autumn day here. |
