Your yard sounds like an amusement park. Yah, we had lots of dogwoods. White. They grow all through the woods and it's beautiful to see them in spring, sprinkled white among the tall trees. And redbuds for a splash of purple along the hills and roadsides. Down our drive we let the dogwoods stay, planted some more, and cleared other things out. It's a glory when they bloom. I'd like to get more redbuds going.

I got my mother two japanese cherries for mother's day one year. They're getting up there now and bloom beautifully. I really like 'em.
I'd like to plant a Kwanzan.

Whenever Swain and I were clearing an area out it was tough because we're not that good at identifying trees when they don't have leaves and it's a strict rule of my father's that unless there is an overwhelming reason to remove it, you never-ever remove a dogwood. A good reason might be that it's in the middle of the driveway.

A dream of mine was to have several hillsides and slowly plant them in color schemes. A large swash of red with a yellow circle. Stuff like that. Forest Art.
