How would you compare midnight to 1) Cold Mountain, 2) Angela's Ashes, 3) Into thin air ?? I liked each of those much better than midnight, especially Cold Mountain. But Midnight stayed on the bestseller lists for years after these guys fell off. BTW I don't mean to say Midnight was not a good story... it was... I just didn't think it deserved all the hype
