If you pre-plan a purchase of a stock - especially a penny stock - you know what can happen. Stocks are investments in new or established businesses. Some make it...some don't. Being a longer term investor reminded me of trips cross country w/our kids - who were not experienced with taking many trips.
............
"Are we there yet?" my kids used to say...
"When will we get there? I'm tired!" I would continue on down the road, knowing that their time and my times were two different things. We(my wife and I) had already been driving cross country for many hours while the kids entertained themselves. My son drew and colored his cartoons. My daughter would work with her dolls, then go over in a corner and be in an entirely different world, again. She would dose off to sleep and then wake up in a very cranky mood. We would stop and give the kids a walk and let them relax a bit. We would proceed on our trip and try to keep them occupied. Their world was in the "then and now of the moment". A fan belt would break and the kids had something to occupy them while it was fixed. Now that was some excitement. We might see a circus and the animals being transported. The kid's interest would grow in size and they wanted to stop and get off just to go to the circus. We explained that we were on this trip for a different reason. Just sit there a while longer and we will be there soon. We continued on the 'long' journey knowing it would end soon. Most journeys do and we move on .
The road would continue on and on. It moved from a big interstate to a wide two lane road. There was construction going on. Gravel roads, dirt roads, Muddy roads. Small roads and bumpy pot holes! Curves and hills! I'm getting car sick! Oh, my!
"Are we there yet?" asked my son. My daughter would chime in" You said - it was gonna be soon! I'm tired! I want to be there now!". Eventually off they went again into their own things and didn't care about when we got there. The roads began to improve. The scenery began to look much more inviting! Was that Cade's Cove? Look a deer! There's Fronteer Land! A roller coaster! Wow!
Our destination was reached - the kids said nothing more about time. They enjoyed the moment and looked for rides, rides, and continued good times. After our visit was completed and we were on the road again - we got the same questions about home and our next trip. "When?" and we would say "Soon! Soon!" Most of the time we survived and returned home and made even longer and longer trips.

The moral of the story is all you (long timers) fly and send the (short timers/day traders)kids to camp by bus and let their bus driver(baby sitter) say "Soon! Soon!!!!"
