Re: Newbridge's 40% yr/yr DSL European Growth

elmatador,
I think you may find my info below of interest. It took me some time, but I did track down the Newbridge/ADSL connection. Most NN investors are busy thrashing the daylights out of NN, without hearing NN's recent factual historical information. But I can't say I wouldn't be upset if I held NN for many years and it never appreciated.

But the good news may be that NN does have a large footprint in Europe and DSL is driving their success. If those European carriers can slap DSL line cards into the Mainstreet 36170 Multi-Services switch, and have DSL, good to go, that may be significant to NN. But I'm new to NN so I'm just doing some speculating right now.
_____________

I listened to the CC again and it was pretty clear that Terence did state that the 40% yr/yr growth in Europe was due to Newbridge's next generation DSL line card for unconditioned copper pairs. And Terence did say NN did get this aspect right for, "whatever reason." I thought that was kind of funny/honest of him to say this.

If you want to take a listen for yourself you can go to:
newbridge.com.

Click on the gray box in the upper right corner, then pull the scroll bar on the Real Audio Player to 24:10:00. If you listen for the next 40 seconds, this is when the statement comes out.

IMHO, it was a pretty significant 40 seconds in terms of what is, "here and now," for NN in the current quarters. Something is driving NN Europe and it sure seems to be their DSL product line. It appears to be a good fit for their 36170 Multi-services switch. Wonder if this has a large installed base in Europe?

I'm guessing, because I'm certainly not a NN expert, that this group of products may be what is selling well:
newbridge.com
____________

elmatador, I would appreciate your comments if you get a chance to listen to the DSL-Europe news right out of the mouth of the CEO of Newbridge. Of course there is no dollar figure put on it, and I have not been following NN in enough detail to even estimate what it is.
