Years ago, when I knew nothing about investing (as if I know more now), I went in (through a friend of course) on a an IPO for company that produces high speed scanners that in one scan create micro-fiche and database records of the data; still trading as Unirom (TSE OTC UROM). Supposedly this was a big deal since most scanners required two passes and there was talk of large deals with big banks.

Unirom is now trading around $0.02 CAD (far cry from the 1.50/share I paid!). The only positive side now is that I recently was informed they turned a modest profit last quarter - who knows, there may be hope yet!

Cheers
James
