Seriously, Ron, you talk about Intel like you're some conspiracy fanatic. Your language is abusive and rude. You don't know me but seem to want to accuse me of being either stupid or part of an elaborate attempt to defraud investors - the same investors who've done quite well this year by-the-way.
You claim intel has misguided analysts, yet the actual guidance has been the most accurate in years. Go back and rationally, if you can, analyze the guidance in the earnings reports with what actually happened - its pretty close - I hope your expectations for how well anybody can predict the future of the computer biz from one quarter to the next are more rational than your postings to me.
With respect to HWP, IBM, Dell guidance - total company revenue outlooks are complicated things. You should understand that. Let's get to the earnings season in January and find out who called it right. Its very possible that all four companies are accurate. I don't doubt that all are trying to give correct forecasts.
I disagree with the "lost a lot of credibility with their word-smithing approach" statement. If anything I think people were frustrated, including me, that Intel didn't come out and speak more often about what was going on. It was the analyst community that had the story gyrating.
I congratulate you if, in fact, you've done well on your speculations in the last month. If you've got it all figured out the way your posts imply, then you should have no trouble repeating your success. Maybe all that money will make you a more polite person.
