When that Alcatel news broke I emailed Steve Rhinds at Dow Jones in Paris and this is what he said about the news:

I also emailed SBC with my displeasure with that release from Alcatel. I told them that they should have released the news. I never heard back but it was nice to get the official word yesterday.
