I am surprised that you would find Mozart's arias more forgettable Well, obviously this is a matter of highly subjective preference. One likes what one likes. For example, I love the dense and intricate harmonies of Brahms piano music, while my classical music "mentor" utterly detests them, much preferring Schubert or Beethoven. I enjoy much of Wagner, while my wife mysteriously finds half a dozen errands to run when I put it on. So, I must admit I'm just a bit surprised you're suprised.
