Hi Tenchusatsu; I do get confused easily between Sony and Nintendo, and I had to edit my post after I had determined which one was which. In fact, I switched it back and forth between Nintendo and Sony several times... I think it's correct now. Now is Playstation a Nintendo or a Sony product?

Nintendo was an early user of RDRAM, but they never used Direct RDRAM (that I am aware of). Here is a link from back when Rambus still had a chance for the design win:

Virtual channel DRAM gears to duel Rambus
Steve Przybylski, principal analyst at the Verdande Group, noted that Rambus got an early boost when Nintendo, working with NEC as its principal chip supplier, opted to use the Rambus channel in the Nintendo 64 machine. But even if Rambus is not selected for the next-generation machine or the follow-on to that generation, Przybylski said, the memory architecture may be sufficiently pervasive on the desktop by that time to weather the loss of the game platform.
