I did not add "so much", nor "chooses". What I am showing is that believing IS a choice. You would have me think differently.
Let me ask you something:
I've just finished an apple.
Was it bitter or sweet?

Come on, make your best faith guess. You can even chose to ignore the question. But you will not be right unless I ate the apple you chose.

So when I see the words "Whosoever believes" I do not add "chooses", but instead understand that BELIEVING in itself IS a choice.

let me ask you something mr. Greek Bible - what did the word "believe" mean to the Greeks?

in english it is commonly accepted as meaning "to accept as true"; "to hold as opinion";"to have a firm conviction": etc...
what does the verb "to" mean. well I'll give you hint, it's not a passive verb. You have <to> do something. In the past tense <believed> means that you have done decided in your brain. In the plural present tense it means the same thing. One has accepted something as true. How does one accept? My answer is by choice... yours must be that God accepts your belief for you. (but then why does one need faith?)
