Gee, first post since June!...either I'm very early, or very late...in either case, this just in from Briefing.Com on ECCS:

15:20 ET ******

ECCS INC (ECCS) 4 7/16 +1/4: A SAN play that the the momentum crowd hasn't yet swooped down upon? If you've been reading the site over the past week or so, then you know much of the buzz has been about Storage Area Network (SAN) players. Participants in the move have included JNI Corp (JNIC), Brocade Communications (BRCD), Datalink Corp (DTLK) and Interphase Corp (INPH). Seeing some of the air let out of newcomers DTLK and INPH after the stocks posted respective gains of 76% and 46% yesterday. But traders and momo players certainly haven't abandoned the theme. Today, they have run up Alanco Environmental Resources (ALAN 3 1/2 +11/16, intraday high plus 78%) following announcement last week of plans to acquire SAN company Arraid Inc. That Alanco's principal business is designing air pollution products doesn't appear to be an issue... Shares of ECCS Inc (ECCS 4 7/16 +1/4) not exactly leaving tire markets on the road today, but the stock has managed a 6% on almost 5x average daily volume. The Tinton Falls, NJ-based company has been around since August of 1997, brought to market by Unterberg Harris in a 2.5 mln share offering priced at $4.50 a share. Inconsistency on both the top and bottom lines have prevented stock from ever venturing past $10 per share and have kept ECCS confined below $6 for the past 20 months... But could a turnaround be in place at ECCS? Hard to say. Company has head-faked investors a number of times. However, latest quarter results were indeed impressive. For the period, ECCS logged revenues of $11.7 mln, an increase of 86% over the yr-ago and up 32% sequentially. Company reported net income of $0.06 a share, reversing a yr-ago loss of $0.09... Based on First Call survey of 1 analyst, ECCS expected to earn $0.13 (P/E 34) in 1999 and $0.24 (P/E 18) in 2000... Should be noted that ECCS is an extremely volatile stock. Issue has a history of making dramatic pullbacks after failing to clear key technical hurdles... - DS
