Infowave Software [V.IW] - On the Road

Infowave is currently attending Wireless IT 99 being held in Santa Clara, California, an industry driven event designed to showcase wireless data solutions. All components necessary for an end-to end solution will be represented: hardware manufacturers, software developers and carriers. The target audience includes CIOs (Chief Internet Officers)/CEOs, IT directors, system integrators, solution integrators and engineers. Infowave will have a multi-presence at Wireless IT 1999. Infowave will exhibit and demo from its own booth its suite of wireless products including Infowave for Exchange, Infowave for the Net and its latest WAP / Microbrowser capabilities. Infowave will also be participating in the Microsoft Speakers Pavilion Booth as part of the Microsoft ISV (Independent Software Vendor) program and as a member of the BellSouth Wireless Data Tour. Visit Wireless IT 99 wow-com.com for more information. The Dow Jones Newswire ran a story Wednesday on Infowave's recent bounce from just below the $3 range to today's $3.70, the first up action we've seen since the TSE listing, and quoted the eloquent Mark Pavan, analyst with Yorkton Securities, "Internet/wireless arena is seen as an area which could see major growth. If it takes off, it will be huge," (Ed's note: Well, duuuhhhh!) The piece goes on to say "Excitement over Infowave's growth possibilities wasn't dampened by the company's third-quarter financial results, reported last Wednesday, which saw the third-quarter loss rise to C$894,000 from C$319,000 a year earlier, while revenues slipped to C$3.77 million from C$3.89 million." Those of us that managed to buy the stock at the $3 level recently will argue with the last statement as the market continues to not "get" the potential and significance of the wireless component to Infowave's story.
