Thursday November 4, 4:14 pm Eastern Time RESEARCH ALERT-DB Alex. Brown reiterates Tibco buy PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov 4 (Reuters) - Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown reiterated its ``strong buy' on shares of Tibco Software Inc. (NasdaqNM:TIBX - news) after an upbeat presentation on Wednesday at the firm's technology conference in Baltimore. --``Tibco recently signed the biggest deal (in) its history, a $5 million deal with Procter & Gamble,' wrote analyst Jim Moore in a note to clients on Thursday. --``We believe the company's pipeline is very strong and the fundamental outlook for the company remains positive,' Moore wrote. --Moore also wrote that Tibco management said that new business was ``very healthy with no impact from Y2K.' --``The company is also on track to double its direct sales organization by next year from 30 reps today, and indicated that its new hires were performing ahead of expectations,' Moore wrote. -- Reuters Group Plc, the global news and information company, owns a majority stake in Tibco, based in Palo Alto, Calif. --Tibco stock was up 12 at 71 in late trading on the Nasdaq.
