His main argument is that we shouldn't have entered WWI, and that WWII was a mopping up of WWI. He thought it would be a good idea if Hitler and Stalin fought it out, like two snakes in a pit. It's interesting to note that JFK, Gerald Ford, the journalist John Flynn, the very liberal LaFollette from Wisconsin and numerous others I could go look up were America Firsters. We've been propagandized to in a big way on the war issue.
