Brian: Again, I am not trying to convert the world to my way of thinking. I don't care what everyone here is thinking - I am worried about what I am thinking! I may well be totally wrong, and I want to find that out BEFORE my stocks go in the wrong direction, not after.
So many of the SI threads are filled with people who want mindless cheerleading, and hate it when anyone challenges their facts or their understanding of them. Lots of posters regularly finish up whatever their post is, with "Go <name of stock>!"
Fine, that feeling of solidarity with the other posters will make them feel good now. And let's face it, there is always plenty of uncertainty connected with any stock position, so chatting with a bunch of like minded people can let you relax.
But that is a delusion. Reality doesn't care how many posters all agree that Stock X is great. Reality is whatever it is, and eventually it will determine the fate of the stock. If it is different than what you think, you are not going to find that out talking to cheerleaders.
I figure if anyone would know why ERC is going to be an also-ran in the fuel cell market, it would be here on the Ballard thread. After all, the market is valuing Ballard at close to 10 times ERC, so presumably its technology is so much better, its commercial possibilities are so much vaster, etc. I am astounded at how little actual support anyone here can give to the company, in terms of defending it against my challenges, other than pure faith.
If Ballard does turn out to leave ERC in the dust, no way I would have seen it coming from an ERC thread. Like I said, I am worried about me and my money, not you and yours. |
