I'm not an accountant. I may be wrong, but I always thought salaries were treated as a FIXED cost. VARIABLE costs are those that fluctuate with revenue. For instance, if you have a commissioned sales force, their cost is variable, their cost is based on the revenue they generate; a salaried sales force, their cost is fixed, if sales go up they cost less as a percent of sales, sales go down they cost more. Is there an accountant on the thread?
