Wow, what a long reply. 99% was just a restatement of your beliefs. Toward the end you finally get to answering the question.

You agree it is foolish to argue with anyone, even to preach to anyone. But you do it because PERHAPS your argument will be the foreordained means by which some elect person will come to their pre-ordained salvation. (I think that was your answer.)

Well, so what. Maybe if you dragged around a big cross all day every day, that would be the ordained means for someone. Maybe standing on the street corner ranting at people would be the means. You can't know whether anything you do will be the ordained means or not. If salvation is ordained and will happen no matter what any of us do, then everyone who is elected or chosen will be saved regardless of what anyone does. So still I come back to why do YOU argue? You can't know that your arguing will be the means for the foreordained salvation of anyone. Indeed, arguing on a forum like SI is likely to reach far fewer than a busy street corner would and thus you are much less likely to be a foreordained means here. So my next question, is ...

why argue here and not on the busiest street corner in your home city?

Next, you know you are one of the elect because you believe. So this would mean that everyone who believes at any point of their lives is one of the elect?
