Non-farm Payroll Employment for Oct. = +310k
Unemployment rate = 4.1%

Employment rose in October, and the unemployment rate was essentially unchanged at 4.1 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. Nonfarm payroll employment rose by 310,000, following an increase of only 41,000 (as revised) in September. Average hourly earnings rose by 1 cent in October.

Average hourly earnings of production or nonsupervisory workers on
private nonfarm payrolls edged up by 1 cent in October to $13.37,
seasonally adjusted. This followed a gain of 7 cents in September. In October, average weekly earnings rose by 0.7 percent to $462.60, seasonally adjusted. Over the year, both average hourly earnings and average weekly earnings increased by 3.6 percent.
