Gary, A question about homogenous networks:

It seems logical to me that telecom companies would want homogenous products in their networks as it would insure that most stuff communicates properly. In fact, however, it appears to me that they are doing the opposite: going out of their way to use different vendors and different technologies. It seems they don't want to paint themselves into a corner by getting locked into a single vendor or technology (i.e., cell vs. packet).

What do you think?
