Sudan: Martin Molyneaux, research director at FirstEnergy Capital Corp. in Calgary, said Talisman is realizing surprisingly high product netbacks from Sudan. At $19.49 a barrel, they're the highest for the whole company. (Product netbacks are the difference between the sale price of a barrel of oil, or $30.89 for Sudan oil, and royalties and operating costs, which were $6.63 and $4.77 a barrel for Sudan oil, respectively).
(Financial Post, November 5)

1 US Dollar = 1.47 Canadian Dollar
1 Canadian Dollar = 0.68 USD

Oil shipments in Sudan began Aug. 30, with Talisman's share of the joint venture averaging 23,767 barrels a day during September. Just over one months cash flow from Sudan = C$15 million = US$10.24 million = US$13-14 per barrel!
