Dave, I was the one who warned that .09 was not to considered a disappointment. CNBC uses the term "shadow number" for the EPS that is whispered and that everybody expects instead of the consensus number of the analysts and company management. Back in the soft market of 1994, when Safeguard Scientifics was trading around 4 1/2, good companies with outstanding prospects and management were getting clocked even when announcing earnings that were above consensus estimates. Of course, I don't think we here on this board are going to effect the stock one way or another more than temporarily, but I still have some wounds to deal with. Last Fall, RICA was the subject of some unreasonable projections that I made the mistake of passing on to some people. Some people bought and hung on to the stock because they believed those numbers as I did. I have been as guilty as anybody of exuberance on this board, but this time I want to warn everybody that earnings projections appreciably beyond the official forecast make me very nervous for some folks who might get caught up in excitement.
